Suggested Statistics Courses


These URI courses will be accepted for the Stats course:
  • STA 220 Statistics in Modern Society. Elementary concepts in sampling, polls, surveys, random samples. Foundations of statistical inference; estimation, comparison prediction. Statistics for the consumer, quality of data, credibility of statistical evidence. Environmental measurements and experiments.

  • STA 308 Introductory Statistics. Descriptive statistics, presentation of data, averages, measures of variation, skewness, kurtosis. Elementary probability, binomial and normal distributions. Sampling distributions. Statistical inference, estimation, confidence intervals, testing hypotheses, linear regression, and correlation.

  • Other courses that teach statistical methods may be accepted.

Coming Soon

Starting in Spring 2010 URI will be offering a full course in EnCase Forensics Software. This course will be eligible to any student who is currently enrolled in one of the degree or certificate programs and has successfully completed CSC485 or CSC585. Enroll now to be one of the first students eligible. Students who complete the course will be eligible to take their EnCe certification test.
