Course Description
HPR108b is an honors level course for students interested in Digital Forensics. This course assumes no previous background in Computer Science or Digital Forensics. This course offers a mild introduction into digital forensic tools and procedures, computer and networking concepts and legal and ethical issues involving computer forensics.

Acceptance into the honors program at URI.
Course Format
HPR108b is an in person seminar type course. The class meets twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday. During class meetings there is usually a lecture followed by some hands-on exercises. Quizzes are often given at the beginning of class to test on the previous reading assignment. Homework assignments are given weekly and the students have one week to complete them.

Starting in Spring 2010 URI will be offering a full course in EnCase Forensics Software. This course will be eligible to any student who is currently enrolled in one of the degree or certificate programs and has successfully completed CSC485 or CSC585. Enroll now to be one of the first students eligible. Students who complete the course will be eligible to take their EnCe certification test.
